Hydrothermal vent discovery!
These deep-sea hydrothermal vents were recently discovered by MBARI researchers in the southern Gulf of California using two underwater robots—one (an autonomous underwater vehicle) to map the seafloor and a second (a remotely operated vehicle) to explore the seafloor, take video, and collect samples.
